ARRGHH!! HELP! Can't get TBB sensor clamp back on!
If at all possible, could anyone who's replaced their TBB please call me and tell me how you re-clamped the hose clamp that secures the sensor to the boot?
I can't get it shut! I went to the hardware store & bought a regular clamp, but it's too small. The next bigger one was too wide.
I'm S4-less! Please help!

clamp
seriously there is not much force needed to hold the sensor on - you can use a think (strong) zip-tie and you should be pretty safe.
I managed to get the old clip back on (after much cursing and loss of skin on fingers, etc) - but when I go in for my 8k service I'll ask them to replace it
I was going to use a hose clamp in its place, but all the hose clamps I could find were too wide. One almost worked but was about 1mm too wide, so I figured better safe than sorry.

Re: Avram, I haven't gotten my TBB yet, curious, what size clamp will I need and how wide?...
Sorry about your dilemma, but I don't want to be in the same position you are. Thanks.
Chris

More than 1" in diameter...
and at most 5/16" wide, preferably less.
The clamp on the left is the hose clamp I bought that was just barely to small in diameter - with it on the boot, I couldn't get the sensor in. Open it just 1/2 turn more, and it springs open.

http://www.est.org/~dorfman/audi/tbb-sensor-clamp.jpg</a

I tie wrapped it as well -- may not be German but it will work and hold
There is a ring and grove in the temp sensor and boot so once it "pops' int place you are just assisting holding it in place. The bracket also puts down pressure on the assembly. No worry easy solution.
