Bilstein vs Koni

Bilstein vs Koni
Koni's philosophy is supposedly very strong rebound damping. I don't know about Bilstein. Has anyone had both and used them in daily driving environments where performance and comfort over rough terraign (read pothole city and secondary roads) are the priority over slot car grins on smooth turns? I would love to get your opinion.

Re: Bilstein vs Koni
I previously had Koni sports with Eibachs on my A4 2.6. Recently I installed Bilstein sports on my S4, grooved to lower the car about 3/4" with stock springs.
Overall the Bilstein combination is far superior especially over the roads you mentioned. Ride comfort overall is better than stock with much better control over small sharp bumps.
Very happy overall.

Got any pics of this set up?
I was thinking about gogin with this exact set up. I just got 18"s and I just wanted to reduce some wheel gap. I don't want to spend 1K to do it. Where did you get the Bilstiens? Thanks.

Koni.
Koni's will be a bit more comfortable shock over the Koni's. Their low pressure design caters to a slightly softer compression damping which makes rougher roads more comfortable. The high pressure design of the Bilstein is a great damper, but it does such a good job of controling piston speed, that it makes it kinda crummy on rougher roads.
We've run both for various customers, and highly prefer the Koni setup for the street.
