Default Boost problem saga continues...I'm getting really frustated! Please help :o\ (long)

So my car came out of the mechanic today..

)

He installed a new clutch and PP (had problems with the last one), syncros and "fixed" my boost problem....

He found some vacuum lines that were not connected (HUH???) and a ground that was not connected as well (Whatever). This was done while changing my auxiliary coolant pump as he had to remove the intake manifold. He decided to eliminate the MBC in parallel "cause these cars are supposed to run without these. The N75 should control the boost at all times"

Yeahh right.

So we went for a test ride. Believe it or not, the fvcker worked pretty well (must have know the mechanic was there). IMO, a thorough test was not done though....There was too much traffic and only low gears were used. Anyway, I get home have dinner with the wife and kids and jump in my car to "get milk" )

First gear cool, second (22psi?), third gear 22 then taper to 19 (it's holding, it's holding.....P) fourth gear and boost just jumps to 24psi(Sheeeittt not again!!)then 9psi (goes limp) the 24psi and then 5 and...the check engine flashes....Oh, oh...Pedal off the gas and a granny drive home.

It seems that at low gears it works "fine" but as soon as I get into the higher gears the boost goes CRAZY! Driving in the highway has become my greatest fear!

In all honesty I love my car; if it worked properly it would be the most amazing machine....BUUUT as of right now I could sell it for Tree Fiddy cause my frustration levels are way up there!!I have been having this problem since last October.

I know that some of you are saying "just take it back to the mechanic and let him worry about it" Well I had the car in there for 4 weeks, he proly doesn't have a clue what could be wrong with it and I would hate to have to wait for him to finish his other cars in order to fix my "boost" problem......

Soooo if any of you can help me I would really appreciate it. Maybe I can suggest a couple of route for him to take....

BTW, I have a Vag Com cable but my laptop's battery is dead so logs are not available right now.

Thanks for letting me vent annnndddd

PLEASE HELP ME OUT!!!!!<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/2286236.phtml">Previous Post</a></li></ul>

Few of us had the N75s fail recently, how old is yours and how much has it been tweaked?

Default Sounds like you have a leak in your boost control circuit...

Check all the hoses going to your N75 first, then check the T fittings that sit on the top of the engine where the engine and tranny meet... but be careful and don't yank on them too hard or they'll shatter.

Otherwise the fittings to the compressor housings or the wastegates may be loose. The later can be a total pain in the ***.

Bad N75 is also a possibility, as are a few other unlikely things.

Default N75 Check (New from ECS)..T fittings check..Compresor housing fittings? hmmm...Wastegates? hmmmm...

I will look into that.

Can you explain to me how to "calibrate" the wastegate?? Is there any write up? I'm not doing it myself but just to have an idea so I can debate with my mechanic and make him check

Thanks

Default if my 3- is any indication, you're car is running leaner than an Olsen twin up top @19psi

I don't have the 3- code...I run K03X with 5bar TDC and MBC set to run around 16.5 up top....and she's running lean...at 19 I can't even imagine.

What GIAC 3- version number do you have? Ask Jeff. Mine is K0411x.
