Default brake pad worn light just came on..

ok... so i am driving away... and all of a sudden i get the heart attack sounding loud BEEEP that i normally accustom with the low gas alarm... but i think for a second.. hey.. i JUST had half a tank...

so i look down and what do i see.. (O)

open up the owners manual, and its the brake pad worn light.

now.. my question is...

for those that might know, at what level (i.e. percentage) does the light come on at? i mean, does it come on when there is like %10, %15, %5 brake pad left? does anyone know?

well, i am going to call to make an appointment tomorrow and have them replace it. i was hoping to be able to wait for a couple thousand more miles when i have my 40k service done, but i dont want to chance it, besides.. i have other things for them to do..

Mine just displayed that warning light too....about 1 month ago...not much pad left when it does that...I would get into the dealer pronto..you don't want them to have to buy rotors for you too...oh no...you don't want that. :-)
