Buying an S4. Advice needed. Please help.
Buying a uk spec 1999 S4. Some people have said its a gamble buying this car. I test drove one today and really liked it.
Am I likely to get a lot of problems with this car in general.
I will buy one fully serviced by audi with between 70000 and 90000 MILES.
What kind of things are likely to go wrong?
Is it a big risk buying this car when it comes to problems with engine and mechanics etc.
How solid are these cars.
Current B5 S4 owners please reply and give me your opinions from your experience. It will be much appreciated.
I live in UK and the S4 down here has been around since 1998. Its the 2.7 bi turbo version with 265HP.
I also want to do a simple REVO remap which can be switched on or off, and do a simple exhaust mod. apart from that the car will be left as per normal.
Any ideas which exhausts are good. I want a loud sounding one,, but not to loud. Anice Roar will do.
Also is it possible to safely fit a pair of dump valves that make the woosh sound? Ive been told this is bad because its not a diverter valeve and it confuses the cars on board computer. Some people say theres a way round this but i dont know, as ive heard dump valves of the blow off type on some audi TT's.
Thanks for reading. Would really appreciate your advice.
