Bypass valve Questions...
Well, the mod bug is biting, and I have been trying to do some research on necessary precautions when chipping. I searched the archives for some time regarding to using aftermarket bypass valves. I came across a lot of posts talking of how the Bosch's are not up to the task when dealing with higher amounts of pressure. I also saw some info that said Bosch updated the bypass valves used on the S4. When were the bypass valves updated, and what has been the experience when using the updated valves with an aftermarket chip? Are they still as bad as the original bosch bypass valves? Any addition comments or answers are appreciated.

i personally would just spend more and get more peace of mind...i recommend the baily's or forge's
if your interested in the forge's i have one set of new polished ones for sale.
i've had no problems with the one's on my car right now. (7 months)

This is what I decided...
I was scheptical when chipping my car of the bypass valves. Would they hold? What to do without breaking the bank? Answer: The Bosch/EVO bypass valves. They are an upgrade over stock as they run a stiffer interior spring. I forgot the exact number of these bypass valves but I believe they are similar to the ones used on the TT Porsche. They are also $80 a piece compared to 140-160 a piece for Forge or Baileys. Quite a big savings. I know you can't rebuild them but they have worked flawlessly so far. I highly recommend them as a less expensive upgrade to a part that has been known to be unreliable on chipped cars. Hope this helps.
