Car's out of warranty, should I take the chip out if I want an oil change from the dealer?

What are they going to do? Deny you of a warranty you no longer have?

Default why change the oil at the dealer?!?!? yes take it out the techs will probably take turns

do your own oil change.

2nd, if youre out of warranty dont take it to the dealer for anything, ever.

I would do it myself, but i have no garage, and I'd rather not freeze my **** off doin it in winter

Default take it to a garage you trust. this list should be short and not include the dealer.

or make buddy buddy with someone with a garage.

Default Where do you live? How many miles? Remember in CA turbos covered until 7yr/70k miles...

so if you're in CA don't let the dealer know you've done engine mods if you want coverage. Either way, (1) don't get your oil changed at the dealer (they always over fill and screw things up) and (2) I'd still take the chip out for any dealer service because I find that the dealers are lazy and always will blame any engine code on the chip (i.e. they won't put the effort into finding the REAL problem).
