Default Check engine light does not work..any suggestions...

I bought an APR chip with 4 programs a few months back and then realized that my check engine light does not "light up", so I have no way of changing programs. The light does not come on when you turn the key either. Is there maybe something simple or is the cluster munched? Thanks

Default

Could be just a simple blown bulb behind the cluster.

Default even if the bulb was burnt out (which is highly unlikely,) he should still be able to change

programs. When i first got APR in my car it took awhile for me to get the programs selected. Maybe he's just doing it wrong. It took me a few tries before I was able to get it to work. Two lights should be blinking rapidly...CEL and the EPC light.

Default FYI: APR defaults to "Locked" after a power cycle, and you have to unlock it first.

All cruise control functions will not respond if teh ECU is locked. Do you have the Security feature? I believe APR publishes all their manuals in pdf on their site.
Don't know if that explains the other times the CEL isn't illuminating though.

Had the same problem recently when I went in to valet mode... X-1 racer is correct, you need to "unlock" it. Turn the key to on without starting the engine, enter your unique access code, check engine light and EPC light should flash...

http://www.goapr.com/Audi/support/dpp_emcs_instructions.pdf</a
