Chipping at 60k miles - bad idea?
Some people have posted that chipping an engine over 50k miles is a bad idea. I can't see why it would make a difference, can someone explain? I have a never-been-chipped 2000 S4 with almost 60k miles, have used Mobil 1 synthetic since the first oil change, and the engine consumes no oil. I would think that the stressed components in this engine should be good for >200k miles with good synthetic lubrication, chipped or not. Opinions?

It's a great idea actually.
If you have taken care of your car. The engine is now well broken-in and can handle a chip. I know people who are over 50K and chipped and still running fine.
