Default cleaning the engine bay.

I'M thinking of having my engine bay cleaned at the local car wash. Is there anything I should be worried about?

Take it to a proffessional detailer, not just a car wash...that just makes me feel better.

Default Do it yourself. ITs easy, just buy GUNK at a local auto part store....

Spray it on the main parts that are dirty. LEt it sit for a few minutes then scrub with a coarse brush and finally rinse. You dont want to spray high pressure towards the intake other than that its cake! Good luck. Don;t clean when engine is hot and run engine after to evaporate the water.

I spray mine everytime I wash the car. Just don't point & shoot too long in one spot...

Default I would NEVER use that stuff on a modern engine. It is HORRIBLE on plastic parts

The petroleum distilates in that stuff are too strong, and will leave a cloud on plastic. Simple Green or some other stuff, spray on, wipe off. With all the electronics on these cars, why do you want to get it wet? You hose out the inside of your PC at home?

Check the detailing forum
