Clutch advise for stage 3
I will be putting a new transmission with some shorter gears in my car soon...my current clutch is RS4 with LW flywheel. After hearing all the problems with Spec...I am thinking I will just throw a new RS4 disc in. The current set up only has about 5k on in....but some track time. I figure while I am there I should look in to this.
Thoughts??

spec stage 2 friction disk with your current rs4 pressure plate and resurfaced oem flywheel ...
I'm on my 3rd spec clutch - just installed today.
The first spec stage 2 with lwfw from a tuning company starting with an A had the pins come out of the flywheel - but the clutch was amazing - I still have this pressure plate and clutch friction material - keeping for backup
The second spec I got was because when I took out the defective flywheel I wanted to mate a new clutch to a oem flwheel - I went with a spec stage 2/3 witha "new" harder material - this clutch from the begining grabbed to low and was never quite right - wife ended up frying it trying to back out of the driveway up a hill - I wanted this clutch to work as it felt so strong that it could hold a train
Just putting in a new spec #2 - hoping it is a good one - the reason i'm going this route is that there is no way that a rs4 with rs4 friction material is going to hold for a stage three car that is actually "used" - I do not drag strip the car but I do go to the track 6 times a year - if it is only a daily driver then go full rs4 - next step up is rs4 pressure plate with spec stage 2 friction material
I know there are other new better solution for high hp cars but just as spec was hot for a while, I do not believe we have good long term data on any of the other new solutions

You could always do a RS4 pressure plate+non s4/rs4 disc.
That's what I have and I'm happy thus far. RS4 disc is the same as on the S4 so I wanted something with at least a little bit more holding power. Piggie hooked me up with a nice disc.

So, kind of sounds like there is some possible trial and error with the Spec...it seems some people
have complaind about them.....but I know how that goes ....people typically only complain and don't report good stuff.
So who carries the Spec disc?
Thanks for the input.
