colder air loses horsepower? will cold air intake help?
Why is it that when it is really cold outside that both boost AND power seem lower than normal. the vag was run and it turned out that with my x-chip i saw a 2psi or so loss of boost when it was quite cold out...
My question is, that if i make the headlight/ airbox modification, will it make a positive effect, or after a certain point it loses power?
I plan to have a custom aluminum airbox routed to direct cold air. on a very cold night what will be happening?

Info Inside
First of all, lower boost does not mean there is a loss of power. There is less boost because colder air is denser, and therefore it takes less boost to create the same amount of power.
Secondly, the colder the air, the faster your car will be. Our turbos love colder air :-) Therefore the headlight/airbox mod should be beneficial.
