compass mirror - thanks JoshD and Joshua!
I received my compass mirror yesterday, thanks to JoshD! And the install was cake thanks to Joshua's excellent write-up (in the AW Tech section).
I did find a couple of things that worked better for me on the install - YMMV.
1) After fumbling around with pliers to try to twist the mirror 90 degrees to remove, I just used my hands to twist off the mirror from the windshield and it worked fine. Same for install.
2)I found the metal piece attached to the mirror by a torx screw that attaches to the window mount to be slightly different in size, so I swapped it with the stock piece and the install was much easier. The piece that comes with the mirror was a very tight fit in my 2001.
