Is this an issue I can fix myself, or do I need to take it to the dealer? I just had a pretty expensive trip there and would like to avoid another. Im due for an oil change, can they just re-fill the coolant as well? TIA

the after run coolant pump under the intake manifold...common failure item.

2nd, that or the coolant expansion tank. Those tend to crack and leak.

def check for a leak and if nothing is found send in and oil sample for analysis

like others have said, common leaks are 2ndary pump (in valley in intake manifold), expansion tank, and heater hoses running from rear of engine up through false firewall.

Its possible you don't have a leak and have just lost some coolant over time. But, unless you're sure of that do what has been suggested above. That and pray you don't have a cracked block <knocks on wood>
