Deflowering My 2001 S4
I recently purchased a 2001 S4. I've been doing a lot of research, but there is just so much to do! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW, how do 18's look without lowering?
Here is my wish list:
Wheels...Oettinger RE 8x18's
Tires...Kumho Ecsta 225/40R-18
Exhaust...AWE Twin2
Suspension...H&R springs with Bilstein
Chip...APR
Short Shift....Toy guy
Filter...ITG Panel

Twin2 is a great sounding exhaust. Also, you should definitely do suspension before wheels.
There are a lot of good options, but the consensus is that stasis is one of the best.

search for Allroad Steve (sorry steve :-) ) for the no. 1 reason not to.
Lowered cars look ok with 17", but don't do 18" wheels without being lowered. Also just drive the car and enjoy it before going mod crazy. If I were you, I'd also do only one mod at a time so that you can really see the difference, possibly except for wheels and suspension.

Re: search for Allroad Steve (sorry steve :-) ) for the no. 1 reason not to.
This is how it all got started....The car came with nice Dunlop snows, so I'd like to get some new summer tires and put them away. So then I thought, if I'm gonna buy tires, I might as well get 18's. Then I thought, if I gonna get 18's I'm gonna have to lower it to look sweet. So that's the immediate plan. I found the H&R/Bilstein combo @ AWE for $670. Does anybody know the best place for Oettinger wheels?

here's a tip for using the BB system
write your questions / comments in the subject line and add more detail in the actual message portion. Takes some getting used to, but you can read everything a lot faster and with fewer clicks.
