Default Did another StaSIS suspension install this weekend

No, not my car. SFG Performance appears to have another satisfied client. It is so much better, installation-wise, to go from H&R street or ultra coilovers, to something like a StaSIS set-up. Saves time. The drilling for the holes up front..and in the back..does take extra time though. This was much easier to do than the spring shock combo on a B6 FWD we did the two weekends ago. Man, you really have to disassemble a lot of stuff to get those rear springs out. (Yes, we used spring compressors...couldn't get the springs small enough).

Louis, let us know what you think.

Default Stasis needs to change their lock collars. Did an install week/two back and ...

the little nylon lock bolts are subpar imo. They need to do a friction lock like the H&Rs to keep the collars from turning, especially in the rears where the spring could become unloaded in suspension droop.

Overall a very nice kit(Tracksport 600/700). Must admit I made the owner do the front drilling while I notched the rear towers but think overall it installed well. They have also included a little lock nut to keep the rear collar seated(nice) which was an update to the last one I saw a year/two back.

Stasis needs to include a spanner wrench, hex key, and some sort of front-shaft adjustment tool fwiw. I would expect this for ~$2000.

Oh and Jeff Moss drop-shipped this to my house overnight. Thx Jeff!

Default Spanner wrenches would be nice at that cost..I wholeheartedly agree

Good thing we had a set of cheap ones lying around or we would have been hosed. The collar locking deal was sorta time consuming (on the rear, correct?) I was worried that I might strip the screw, but I did just fine. An official guide would have been nice for the cutting of the slit on the rear suspension. Worked out fine though.

Default Compressor

If you're gonna be doing more of the B6 setups, look into a compressor by RTI Technology, Klann Tools, or Hazet Tools.

Either one of them will pull that rear spring out without taking anything more than the shock out.

Makes doing the rears take about 30 minutes.

Default Dunno where you're getting Motorsports for $2K, retail is(was) $2895 and it

did come with a front rebound adjustment tool. Plus the spring perches are totally different from the Track Sport. Had Louis bought the optional OEM hardware kit, Steve wouldn't have had to spend the extra time taking apart the suspension and modifying bushings.

Default My bad, they were TrackSports(corrected above). Not sure on the final costs, never saw the bill.

These were for a B5S4 as well not to confuse with the rear seperates on the B6s.

Nice kit overall. Still prefer the double ring locks like some of the other kits though... and anything/kit with adjustable perches and cartridges should come with the tools(spanner wrench and front valve tool) even if you have to up the price to cover for it. My $0.02

Sorry for the confusion.

Default Do it..

We use an RTI, and while it does work, it just barely works. The jaws coult be a bit narrower, and stick out further, but it does safely work.

It runs about $600 with 2 sets of jaws, and worth every penny if you have to work on a B6.
Pays itself off in just a couple installs.
