Diffrences between diffrent versions of APR software
So I have been e-mailing with Andy at APR and he keeps answering some question but when I outright ask what the diffrences are between diffrent versions of their software I do not get an answer. I just purchased a 18 month old APR chipped (stock & 93oct maps)ECU and I am wondering what version it is. I am also wondering if I (the driver) will be able to notice any diffrence between the versions. It seemed Andy just wanted me to buy the transferable up-grade warrenty for $150.00, but so far has not given me any reason to do or not do this. I have to say that after three E-mails back and forth with me being very direct in my questions and not having gotten a straight answer makes me feel a little nervious about giving them $5K for a full boat stage III set up if my questions are not going to be answered.

Re: Diffrences between diffrent versions of APR software
i want to know too...what changes have they made in their software over the past few years? what is different about their stage 2+ program? and is it bad to swap out ecu's often(switching from stock ecu to apr 93 oct V5.0 with stage 2+ program?

Just gave them a call
Talked to Brad, who was very nice, and asked what the diffrences are and he could not really answer the question. He did say that my new (too me) 18 month old ECU would in fact be ver. 5.0 software since they have not really done any changes in the last few years.
I am still interested in what the diffrences are though, now I am curious.

Jim

IIRC, APR stage 2+ is the same as stage 1 and 2, except that it handles the CEL thrown from the O2s.
So stage 1 thru 2+ is the same ECU programming. Stage 3 and beyond is different.
