Default Do your tires squeal when getting close to limits of traction?

My previous tires, Falken Azenis St115's, made a nice squeal when I was cornerning, which became louder as I approached their limits. My current Kuhmo MX's, however, just kinda seem to lose traction without any noise - I can shift around all over the place in a turn without making a peep. Could this be because of the smaller sidewall (40 vs 45), or maybe the suspension?

Is this normal? I kind of liked the audible warning, just wanted to see what everyone else's tires do.

Thanks!

Maybe it's been the cold weather - I'll have to go on a drive this weekend and see if they squeal

Each tire has their differences - just one of its characteristics

Default i switch between two different tires and i notice this quite a bit

first tires are the FZ4's and they squeal quite a bit. they are 225/35/19's

the second set is T1-S's. They grip A LOT better than the others and i only hear really minor noises before loosing traction. they are 235/40/18's

Please tell me that you're noticing this on the track and not the street.

Default Pilot Sports (OEM) are very progressive.

Lot's of squealing and sliding before they will actually break loose. They are also greasy when hot.

Falken GRBs are pretty quiet. I prefer them over the S-02 and S-03 models. I've had all -3- .

You can't really compare FZ4s to T1-S, Sir. Different tires for different conditions. :-)
