Drawbacks to replacing airbox with a cone filter duct-taped to the MAF?
Well maybe not duct-taped, but you get the idea 
Why do we need that damn restrictive airbox anyways? Is that to keep the intake from sucking hot engine air? If so, what's the concensus on intake mods...darintake really makes a difference over stock?

FYI
This weekend at BeaveRun, one of the guys had a K04 S4 with an S-Flo and the Darin Airbox mod. His S-Flo eventually fell apart when the front of the filter detached from the body (talk about quality). Anyway, he replaced it with an ITG panel filter that someone had lying around and picked up 5 MPH on the front straight. Now, granted, the ITG filter on the S-Flo was busted, but picking up 5 MPH is pretty huge. Take that FWIW, but just thought I'd point it out.
