There are two cars in town running around with this conversion, kinda sacreligious but very fast!

i saw this at the carshow last year... it is a 318 with a E36 M3 rearend
and a corvette engine in it. it was deafening loud.

On a similar note...mid 90s RX7 w/ LS1 transplant was at the strip friday night.
Engine bay swallowed it whole along with the 6sp gearbox, stock hood on top. Nice set of Volks on it was the only thing that didn't appear stock from the outside.
Too bad something blew on his first trip down the 1/4 and oiled up the lane. Probably rear end.

the corvette engine is 60lbs lighter, he said it fit in easier than the 318 engine
of course there were modifcations to fit but the kid said it was a lot easier than he thought it was going to be. it was about 400hp at that point, he said it would be nearly 600 when he's finished. just nuts.
