EFU 4U (upgrade) and installation for another AWer
A couple of nights ago, I completed my EFU 1.2 to 4U upgrade. The installation is pretty straight-forward.
Upgrade:
1) remove drivers, side lower knee bolster
2) remove radio, and replace radio harness
3) remove steering column top cover (please see instructions for clock spring replacement for EFU switch on stalk.
4) replace "brain", plug in boost gauge tube and harness (re-ziptie under steering column).
5) button it all back up...and program it.
The V1 integration is sweet, it's nice not having to mute the V1 all the time, since it will automute below 20mph (as I have it set). I like my Toyguy V1 display, and I am going to see if I can split the signal so I will see both
I don't use the oil sensor, simplifying the installation (no oil change required)
And the peak hold feature is nice too. The highest peak I have seen is 24psi tapering to 21psi at redline.

I am fairly impressed with the dual display available. Much better than the EFU 1.2. I can't wait to see the G2 (tapping the canbus for data)
The fresh install we did was pretty easy, since we had mine to look at, since the instructions were done generically for TT/A4. Not to mention the English is not the writers first language.
I only had one "ERR", when I started it up, since I didn't have the oil sensor installed and it was setup to use it....but after going through the setup, I was able to delete that view.

Yea, I was wondering if you were thinking that. I have seen temp swings from -20F to 100F+ in MA
so much for that theory.
I am wondering if it's a build date thing. What year are you? My build date was Oct/Nov 2000
