EPL stage 3 S4: 1, Modified Charger R/T+Driver's Ego: 0. Too long a story inside:
I was on my way in to work this morning and notice a modified Charger R/T get on up ahead. Black, chrome wheels, what sounded like a modified exhaust, tinted windows. It piqued my interest, but I made no real effort to get up to him. He was driving just hard enough for me to think it might be on if I got up there.
As luck would have it I ended up behind him (and he was behind another car) in the left lane, when I noticed that all 3 lanes of highway were clear for a long stretch infront of the leader. I was about 2 car lenghts behind him, waiting (going about 80).
He immediately passes move to the middle lane to pass at full throttle, so I down-shift and hit it as I move to the far-right lane. I was instantly gaining ground on him and had made up more than the two car-distance (and the extra lane-change distance) by the end of 4th. I put it in 5th and put a nice full car-length on him and shut it down, making it a good 3+ car length beat down.
He kept going for a bit, but I let him do that all by himself. I think he got the idea. A bit later I see a Honda minivan FLYING up the road behind me, making all kinds of moves. The minivan pulls up next to me with a huge grin on his face giving me the thumbs-up. I return the gesture. I then get up to the Charger again to give him a wave...he is having none of that. He had sunglasses on despite it being overcast, and he was clearly not happy with the outcome of our run. I, on the other hand, was.
I wasn't sure what the stock specs were on the R/T, but here they are:
Horsepower: 340 hp@5000 rpm
Torque: 390 ft-lbs@4000 rpm
Curb Weight: 4031 lbs
It was a nice way to start the day off. I love this car.
