Default Error Codes from last night's Vag Session

Ok,

Big up's to kalex for helping out with his Vag out in brooklyn,

Below is what what we found was causing the CE :
_______________________

17538 - Fuel Trim: Bank 2 (Mult): System too Lean

35-00 - -

17536 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean

35-00 - -

16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

35-10 - - - Intermittent

16688 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected

35-10 - - - Intermittent

These problems appears shortly after I put in a USED MTM ECU (Serial matched exactly as stock) a few weeks ago.

We cleared the codes and later on in the night the CE came back on. I don't know what caused the fault this time since I don't personally have a VAG.

Does anyone have any advice on this? Does this need to be correctly by the dealer, and if so would I be a fool to bring the car in with the MTM ECU in?

Thx
Harry

Yea I have the same problem with an ABS and traction control light came on after i installed my chipped ecu. Don't bring it to the dealer, that will void some stuff on yur warranty, some dealers might let is pass but I know mine said absolutlely not. I am trying to return the ecu and get a new one but I doubt I will have any luck.
sorry

Default I also have those 'system too lean' fault codes

They started a few days ago, went away when I changed my oil yesterday, and then came on this morning while I was sitting in traffic. I was thinking of getting a new air filter, fuel filter, and cleaning my MAF. Any suggestions?

same codes I had and my problem was the MAF. I would swap out the ecu, also.

in your case you just need to enable ABS, ESP and Cruise control with a VAG

Default sounds like MAF problem as thats what most people have when they see those

do you happen to have an aftermarket air filter like K&N? also, early build S4's have flaky Bosch MAFs.

Default naw, no aftermarket airfilter, time for the age old question...

if I put back in my stock ECU and bring it to a dealer for a new MAF will they know it was chipped at one point? I would of cause somehow reset the power interupt..

Default I don't know. I think it was about $300 or so, but...

It was replaced under warranty.
