here are some tips
1) Put the rear of the car on jack stands (or use a lift)
2) Unclamp the stock exhaust from the downpipes
3) Unbolt the stock exhaust hangers and let the entire exhaust drop down with the hangers still attached to the exhaust
4) Install the new exhaust starting with the piece taht attaches to the downpipes, and then work your way forward putting on the clamps (very loose) and re-attach the exhaust hangers (now attached to the new exhaust) to the car.
5) Make sure everything is in aligment, no rubbing or touching of the pipes to any part of the car (Unless you are installing a UUC VM2 which touches in a few places)
6) tighten everything up, again starting at the front of the car and working your way back.
7) Vroooom Vroooom
It may not be the perfect way of doing it but I can swap exhausts in about an hour using this method.

Downpipe install FAQ coming soon
A few of us (joshk, jason, steve and myself) will be putting together a FAQ explaining in detail the procedures to install the Downpipes! It will be part of an upcoming series of FAQs from S4.org
After doing a few things wrong on JoshKs car (the willing guiniea pig) we have a much better idea how to install them and can actually do them in a timely fashion.
Stay tuned!
