hey all, i've been lerking on this forum for a while now and I thought it was about time I make my first post. Just graduated from psu in engineering this past summer, purchased an '01.5 Silver 6MT in July with 20K miles. I love it so far, especially when my brother is around with his '03 325i..smoked..

I've been surviving so far by STFA, trying not to be a typical newb..

many mods on tap..just installed a toyguy-design shortshifter from vast. big ups to vast for speedy delivery and great communication. The shifter is silky smooth and was perfectly aligned on the first try (unlike the strat ss i put in originally..yikes). Can't beat the price either..also have 710N's on tap and my first non-warranty oil change coming up..prob do those next weekend. Any suggestions on the oil change (haven't crawled under the car yet)? Also what size crush washer is needed for the drain plug? Thanks!

Don't bother with the crush washer, I've never replaced it and no problems here. The drain plug is metric don't remember what size and that splash guard is easy to take off. I think there might be a tech article on the subject but you don't need it.

The oil drain plug is 19mm, IIRC.
