Default Fitting an RS4 clutch/Flywheel into an S4 (1998)

Hi Guys,

I have some part numbers and need to find out if they will fit in my car. I have an S4 from 1998 (I'm in the Netherlands and this is one of the first ones) and the following doner parts from and RS4.

Pressure plate 078 141 123 G
Driving disk 078 141 031 S
Flywheel 078 105 266 S

Will they fit. Does anyone know how I can find out?

Also will there be an advantage to changing the flywheel?

Thanks

Default In the US, we only have 2000+ S4s. However, the RS4 parts fit fine.

FYI, the pressure plate is the only difference, the clutch disc and flywheel are the same. However, you'll want to replace the clutch disc with the pressure plate and may want to have the flywheel resurfaced, depending on its condition.

Default Re: rs4 flywheel fits and has stronger springs to take the torque.

Well I'm getting the lot for 300 Euro, but it's used. I guess I should fork out a little extra to have the FW resurfaced. The current owner says the doner car only did 40000 KM or so. Should be fine right?

what do you mean - replace the clutch disc with the pressure plate? Don't get it.

Default RS4's have had clutches go bad in 15tkm. so its all about how it was drived. If the whole package...

is used and you can have it fitted cheaply( by your self or a friend)then go for it.

If you're having it done by some shop dont do it. The install is too expensive to find out later that the clutch was bad after all.
