Great! My first mysterious noise from the engine... Any usual suspects?
I first heard it last night. It's a bit of a slow clatter/chatter, not high pitched, is RPM dependant, can be heard inside & outside, and it never goes away (although you can't here it over 2500rpm). I won't be able to pinpoint it until I can take my Stethoscope to it, but does anyone know any usual suspects?
(I'm fairly certain it's not coming from the heads. And I'm pretty sure it's not the A/C.)
Thanks, Bryan

I had a similar noise, car was under warrenty so I took it in
it turned out to be the water pump, it was failing because a belt tensioner failed.
they replaced the water pump, belt, and tensioner.

If it's the water pump, fix it right away!
The 2.7T engine drives the water pump with the back of the timing belt. If the water pump should seize up, you'll soon burn through the belt and destroy valves. Ick!
