Hearing a low thump at low rpm.....

Hearing a low thump at low rpm.....
particularly when I abrubptly take my foot completely off the gas, in 1st and 2nd gear mostly (tiptronic-regular "D"). Can feel it slightly as well. It is intermittent, though I have only driven the car about 800 miles (mostly highway). I don't have much experience with cars, but it almost seems like something is causing a sudden shock/change/slap of air. I feel I gotta ease into the gas pedal also, since sometimes that same/or similar "thump" happens when I give it gas from a stop. Maybe some of this is normal / just getting used to, Diagnosis anyone? Also, running stock program not chipped(00 S4 Tip-APR 93OCT-APR Cat/back)

Believe it or not, it is normal for a S4. A DTS bar from AWE can help out minimize the sound/movement of your transmission. If you pay close attention to the shift **** (assuming you drive a 6-speed), you can also notice the shift lever move back and forth when you go on and off throttle. Hope this helps.
