hearing a weird noise when i brake hard. sounds like glass clinking
well two times in the past two days ive heard this noise. it sounds like its coming from the interior somewhere under something maybe, my s4 is dead clean w/ nothing inside or anything. And it sounds like its coming from under the shifter maybe. But when i'm goin like 80mph down hill then i brake hard or just do some aggressive driving I hear a weird noise like "clink! clink!" like two people cheeresing each other w/ glass cups. The first time, i thought it was my keys but my keys could not make that sound.
today i tried to simulate it again. I went from 60mph and stepped on the brakes pretty harder than usual and As I was slowing down and the car coming to a shuddering stop i heard it again. Its definately pretty clear so thats why i'm assuming its from inside the car, but it sounds like maybe from under the center console. or shifter. anyone hear this before? is it the ESP makin the noise?

sounds like thin metal (or maybe aluminum) hitting together...
I have no idea, this is just a guess. Given the location you describe, it could be shift linkage, tranny, or maybe heat shielding rubbing against something else right around there. I would think tranny parts like shift linkage or the tranny itself, just since you said it takes a heavy braking to do it. That would move the driveline parts around and maybe make something rub. That's my best guess.

I would say to look at your brake shield plates (black)
They might have warped inward and are hitting the brakes very slightly. All you need to do is bend them (very easy). Also, I had a rattle in my shifter but more like a creaking (fixed with liberal amounts of wd-40) caused by 2 diff surfaces hitting each other (plastic&metal). Good luck.
