You have to be careful on 287 now, there are cops all over te place...
What exit? I am on 287 every day and see cops all the time. Have to be careful now that summer is coming.

yeah, it's probably ~$150. Or you could plead not guilty, go to court & plea it down
which would probably cost like $50-$80, depending how nice the officer is, or if they even show up. I've plead guilty to a # of tickets, and they always get reduced. Also, the cops have always showed up for me. Just be honest that you were doing that speed, and that you were hoping it could be reduced to a non-moving violation, etc. Just say that you weren't watching your speed, and also that how you were driving at that moment didn't acurally depict how you drove in total that morning, etc.
Last week, I was in court in CT and had a $239 ticket lessened to $78

This is what you do..
On the back of the ticket, fill out the "support deposition (sp?)" section and mail it in. Turn around time is ~30 days for a court date (it's not like you'll be "on trial" or anything so don't worry). Tell the judge or the officer that you WERE speeding but not going THAT fast. You goal is to get the points (+4 or 6) down on your license so that your premium doesn't skyrocket. Pay whatever the fine is, even if it goes up. There is a good chance that he'll show b/c they usaully get paid overtime for it. If you end up w/ +2pts then call your isurance co. and ask if they have any defensive driving/point reduction courses. They'll (allstate) usually drop the rates 10% and/or remove points after a course. FWIR the courses are free plus they look good on your DMV record.
