Default Hi all! Yeasterday while following this diagram that i dug up from the forum archives i deleted my

n249.. I did ths initially because i had broke the check valve (black plastic thingy). People say the car is supposed to be smoother, build boost without load, and better drivability. The only thing i really noticed was that 1st gear is much different now, I can now bring it to redline much quicker. 1st gear rips now! I guess i can't really describe it. All in all it feels like i may have lost some torque, But it is better (not faster) in some of the rpm range.<rant>

Default Well off the seat of my pants it feels like there was some torque missing in certain areas of the

rev range. But with all mods there are always a plus and a minus . same thing with K04's don't you lose a slight bit of power and torque at lower RPM's, But makes huge power further up the rpm ladder?

Default got a pic of before ? the small 90* hose on the bottom right had a check valve iirc

that now = boost/ vacuum leak i might be wrong but that what i remeber .

Default Placebo effect

The BPVs are either open or closed. The N249 can't open them part way. When they're open, boost is purged in a fraction of a second. You're imagining the changes to the powerband.

Default none of that is necessary without the N249 in the loop. really, the only thing needed is a single

line going from the port in the intake mani to the 'fuel rail' connection on the far right. all of the other hose and Y/T connectors in that pic is unnecessary.

But it counts as a "mod," right? Some people are just addicted. :-)
