Not being certified scares the **** out of me.
As for the Certified program, what exactly is it? What does it cover?

if you plan on modifying it, why bother with certified?
That just basically means someone traded it into their dealership instead of selling it private party, and the dealership thought it was good enough to put on their used car lot and sell. Sure they say it's in good mechanical working condition, but a car being sold private party has a good chance of being fine too.
Solution? If you're serious about getting the car ask the owner if you can take it to an independent shop you trust and get a thorough inspection done, and listen to those turbos!

I'd still want a warranty for the expensive AC stuff, seat motors, radio, window regulators,
instrument cluster and more.
I hear yuh Ben, but there's more to the car than the brakes, motor, suspension and tranny.
By the way, it costs $1240 to certify and S4 and that's too much for a 40k '00 S4. That car should be around $24K.
