How to disable EDL in a 2000 without wiring in a switch?
#13
I don't know about selling it but we might tell people how to do it. We have to test the circuit bo
ard first. FYI, I am not the engineering brains behind this - so it should work probably. The board has been cut and it was supposed to be tested this weekend. Scheduling problems didn't allow it but it should be tested soon.
There WILL be a post about it once finished and when we decide what to do with the system. It may be sold, the idea may just be given away for all to enjoy.

Pull the pump connector on the bottom of the ABS unit to disable EDL and ABS..
Don't pull the fuse or the top connector on the ABS unit - it will either create a rough road signal, which smoothes the engine throttle and/or mess up the front/rear brake proportioning.

I think it depends on if you have ESP or not
I've never seen an ESP unit, but I think it is different than non-ESP units.
On non-esp units, if you feel under the unit, you 'll feel a wire, that goes to a connector right near the edge of the "square" unit. That connector's latching tab can be seen from the side, looking down. I took a small screwdriver and released the latch, then pushed down with the screwdriver to push out the connector.
