How important is a turbo timer? If I drive hard and then just shut off the car does it hurt my S4?

Default Yes. If you drive it for a few minutes, with out using any boost, it will cool down enough .
Turbos timers make me nervous. It is possible for them not to shut the engine, off if they fail.
