Audi of America will provide a warranty on used cars sold by Audi dealers. This is the CPO program. It is from audi of America. You can *only* get this on a used Audi bought from a dealer.

Audi dealers also sell Audi Pure Protection plans for owners of Audis that are still under the new-car warranty. These plans are provided by an aftermarket insurance company named JM&A, with whom AoA has a marketing agreement. If there's a warranty claim, AoA has nothing to do with it. That means the FOM doesn't go looking for mods to try to weasel out of the warranty. Someone from JM&A might try, but AoA isn't involved.

The price of the Pure Protection warranties are very negotiable. I bought the 7yr/100k mile platinum plan for $3200, after getting quotes up to $4200.

So lets say I buy an S4 w/ factory warranty remaining till June of 2005. Am I still able to get the audi certified warranty on this? Or does it only qualify for that other warranty plan you were talking about.

AOA has different prices based on the model and year that they charge the dealer for the CPO program. The inspection for CPO (supposedly 300 "point") costs the dealer between $400 & $600 (plus any repairs made)and $1300 added to the car's cost for the CPO program for an '01 S4.

Of course all these things cost "them" less and are added to the car's price as a retail charge which is automatically passed along to the buyer.

You do not actually "buy" this warranty... it is already in place on a CPO'd vehicle.

Also... no particular color attracts the babes more than another... Silver is not the be all end all of Audi colors, and you will find that some B5 S4 Nogaro owners believe that their cars are actually "faster" than B5 S4 cars of other colors. Avant owners believe that they are an "elite crowd" because there are only 1500 B5 S4 Avants (US imports/production). These would be obvious Audi myths rather than Audi legends.

Too bad there is not a "noob forum" for you to ask all these questions (of the type you have been asking),... and I am surprised that no one has yet to infer that you should really be using the "search" option to get answers to these type of questions. Try it... it is very handy.
