how true is the trip computer for mpg? I get avg 15 City/19 Hwy. apr 93. Should i be concerned?

From the factory the computer is about 10% optimistic. You need to use VAG to adjust the settings...
I changed mine from "100" to "110" and now it reads within 0.2 mpg of what I manually calculate based on gallons consumed and miles driven.

The default value stored is 100. It can only be set to between 85 and 115 in 5% increments. Increasing the value makes the computer give lower mpg numbers. 110 is about perfect.
Comparing gas mileage with others is useless unless you know their driving style. The best objective indicator of that is looking at average mph. I average about 25mph because I do a lot of city driving. My trip computer gives me about 18mpg for fuel economy and it's almost exactly what I calculate by hand...now that the VAG is adjusted.
