Default I could use some chips and salsa in my S4

Don't get me wrong, the thing is fast in any gear, and 1st and 2nd feel fine, but in 3rd you can tell that it would be nice to have a little more oomph in passing (more, more, more, more!), especially if you're going up a slight hill, and I'd love it if 4th gear power felt just like 3rd gear power. As to 5th and 6th gear, I don't think the extra power would make much difference because at the top ends of those gears, it really is just the speeds that impress more than the acceleration; although I can imagine 5th and 6th gear for passing on the freeway would provide pretty incredible passing power w/o having to downshift after the addition of some salsa. I'm still going to wait a year before I do anything, though.

Default Yeah, but it's still fun!

After about 3 days, I was no longer surprised at the response when I'd put the hammer down, but instead expected the car to GO and GO FAST. I am still surprised, however, at how quickly this thing puts distance on slower moving objects fading away in the rearview mirror.

Default WARNING!!!

IF you guys want to AutoX your cars, I would NOT suggest chipping it. SCCA is not very Turbo friendly, and as the Audi chips control the boost, it is not allowed in Stock or Street Prepared. So you'd have 2 choices with it:

1) run on modified, which you would be murdered in - this is the unlimited class with even ex-formula cars!

2) run in Street Touring like I have had to. And this is a BASTARD class with either too few cars in it, or way TOO modified rice cars.

Either way, you would not be happy. What I plan to do eventually is exhaust (Suppertrapp, ha ha ha), air filter, and KONI Yellow Sport shocks. Those, plus DOT approved tires (now even some gumball tires with NO tread are DOT tires ) are about all you can do legaly. Now sure, you could cheat and run stock with a chip - but once found out and protested, you will be labled as such and no one would ever trust you again, and you'd always be protested forever, even if you tried to run a bicycle!

So before you chip, . . . think seriously about WHAT you want to do with the car.

Default cheating?

"Now sure, you could cheat and run stock with a chip - but"

I'm confused, how would putting your stock chip back in for weekend autocrosses be "cheating"?
