This was covered awhile ago. I ran a chip for about 400 miles and have since swapped back to stock(abox), have been stock for about 1000 miles now. anyway for a dealership(warranty company) to notice the change? I have read all about people putting dust on their ecu covers... but i am referring to software(vagcom and the like)
thanks.

Also the readiness values will be reset and it will take some driving for them to pass again.
Of course all of that will happen if you disconnect the battery too, so its not a sure way for the dealership to know you are chipped.

There are non-direct ways of telling.....
scratches on the top of the ECU from the spring clamp.
Wear on the cover bolts
wear in the holes for the covers...the screws self tap and it can be determined if the installed multiple times
And then there is always Karma....if you believe in it...attempting fraud will not go unpunished.

Just tossing out some of the things my service advisor told me. Personally....
My service advisor knows I am chipped. I leave the chip in for all service unless he "recommends" putting in the stock chip.
