I like the AWE's stage 3 clutch disk. Here's why: --->
According to their website, the disk has ceramic lining on the flywheel side, and kevlar on the pressure plate side. Why?
I think they do this to combine the aggressively high bite of ceramic with the more gentle engagement of kevlar to give them a moderate engagement bite at reasonable pedal pressure. When fully engaged the high Cf of ceramic will hold the torque but with less pressure than Kevlar alone would require.
How's that for a theory. Hope AWE will chime in.
BTW this would also put more heat into the flywheel than the pressure plate when launching.
