I love my M2 Wintersports!
I've had them on my car for about 3 days now and I'm very impressed with their traction in the snow (about 3"), slush, and on dry pavement. Of course, they don't even come close to "summer" tires, but they're great for winter.

I'd rather ride on my stock wheels without tires.
just kidding. If I can get rid of these at
around 75% of what they cost me, I'll get the
Vredestine Wintrac's in the highest speed rating
possible. Don't get me wrong, the Dunlops were
GREAT when I drove to Vermont, but we rarely get
that kinda snow or ice on the ground. If it
does snow that much in my area, it's off the
street before you have to actually go anywhere.
Besides, my sister's getting a 02' 3.0 or a Passat 4motion, so if things are really bad, and
I realllllly have to get somewhere... I'll bug
her to come home and drive me around.

Do you think the Vredestein Wintrac's will be much better than the M2's?
Looks like they are available with a "V" rating in the 225-45-17 size though.

Vredestein

well, the size itself should make a difference. I got 205/50 -- 1st mistake...
and from what I've been told, the Wintrac's are
supposed to be much better in the dry, and
about the same -- maybe a little worse -- in the
snow... which is fine with me. I need waaay
better dry performance at speed.

and I'm stock!!! I can't even imagine the
frustration of chipped S4 drivers with tires
that lose their grip this quickly when compared
to a good summer tire. I can't wait till next
year... I'm moving to a warmer climate... till
I miss NY... which basically means I'll be taking
a 1-2 year vacation from NY.
