want to start a thread that consist of info that helps AudiWorld members think about what other maintenance/mod work that should be done if you're already planning on doing one thing in particular. Alot of you have chimed-in before stating that when you went in and did "this" while-you-were-at-it you also did "that," within reasonable time.

I think it's a good idea and may prove to be helpful for even some of the non-noobs. JMHO.
Can anyone post something they did (maintenance/mod)and also what they went ahead and did as well?

Default OK, I have one: While changing shocks and springs, should I do the control arms? (more)

I'm at 55k. I haven't had a chance to look at my control arms yet, but at my mileage, if I'm getting sport shocks and springs, should I get the control arms done too? I don't want to have the arms go 10k miles from now and then have to geting everything taken apart and an alignment done again.

Hard to say, I had two upper arms fail at 90k+ or so, but the other 6 are still fine at 128k miles.

Yes. You have to take everything out anyway. At 60K, mine were shot.

Default Similar experience. Had the 2 right uppers go at around 100k.

Left uppers were starting to show play, so I just changed them all, upper, lowers, and inner and outer HD tie rods at 146k.

Default If I was doing it I'd have replaced them all, AM warr covered it and would only replace the two.

Cost to have a shop replace two was more than my parts cost would have been for all 8! :P I bet the rest will fail this summer.

Do they make a "creak"-ish popping type noise under hard stops?
