Default idea for mods...

My car is in the shop after being recovered from a theft...

Any ideas for mods while it's there?

I'm getting the euro h/l's, OZ SL's, rear door handle mod...what more could be done?

I was thinking of suspension...but what could be done while the front bumper is off?

Default replacing turbo's (serious comment btw)

e.g. have them look carefully at the turbo's, as I suspect they took a beating during the theft.....

Default I thought about that...

they will be bringing the car to an Audi dealership to look at the clutch, engine and tranny...so I called the dealership and they said they'll simply test drive the car and if it feels right then all is well and I'll be on my way.

What can I do to have the dealership check the turbos, and everything else for that matter, thoroughly?

BTW, how are the turbos checked?

Default Goldie, how are they going to "look" at the turbos?

If the engine is running strong and the turbo whistle sounds fine, I suspect that's all they'll do. I suppose a person could specifically ask for a pressure test etc, but more than likely they'll just hookup to the diagnostic tool and make sure the normal outputs are there. They're not going to pull the engine to look for additional wear-and-tear from the theft, at least they didn't in my case (crossing fingers).

Default exactly what they said...

Jack Daniels mentioned that it wouldn't be in their best interest to inspect the clutch, engine and tranny closely...they mentioned a simple test drive.

I was wondering if I could get a dealership to simply replace my clutch...stating to the insurance co. that it is worn due to the theft. Same with the turbos...Is it possible??

Probably both. Nothing really in it for the dealership, and insurance won't pay without evidence.

Default also...

the body shop mentioned that while driving the car it seemed something may be wrong with the parking brake.

it is fully disengaged but while rolling the car will come to a stop as if engaged...any ideas what this could be due to?

maybe they were doing e-brake turns in my car??
