Im currently running 200 cell metallic cats. Is it worth the money/HP gain to get test pipes?

Default after having test pipes for a few weeks, they...

1.turn your exhaust tips gold
2.make your exhaust tips dirty very quickly
3.cover the entire back of the car in soot

i have to say, there was a huge performance difference on my car though.
if i were to do it again, id prob leave the cats in, but have them swapable for test pipes, for track events etc.

Default Kinda what I was thinking. I would imagine 200 cells that little might as well be test pipes as far

as flow, or am I wrong??

Default I run test pipes all the time, put cats on to pass emissions, noticed some decrease in spool up, but

definately quiter with cats. No problem with soot or any discoloration. Are they worht the money? HP cost!

Default Yep. Mark and I talked about those particular cats quite a bit and they were spec'd

with the intention of almost test pipe performance even at hybrid+ flow rates. In addition to the fact that the cat back is probably higher in restriction that those are.

Be kind to the environment. Plus test pipe cars stink to high heaven and sound crappy. Plus a slow car only slightly slower isn't really a serious detriment. No offense to our B5s, but its the truth. ;-)

Default You sure you didnt by an A4 by mistake? Im not sure I could stand mine louder to tell the truth. 200

cells, 3 " DPs and the ASP cat back is plenty loud enough. One more notch up and the neighbors will start to bitch. Assuming they dont already that is. : )
