Sucks how every manufacturer adds weight each year to their model lineup. Soon, our pigs won't be considered so heavy! Piggie, you'll have to change your name

Default yeah, but stock it handles better than a mk4 w/susp and is fast as a chipped 1.8t or stock 225TT

A friend picked his up earlier this week and loves it.

Default Faster than a chipped 1.8T? Chipped Mk4= 210hp and 400lbs lighter! Mk5=200hp...

and less torque too. It seems as though the chassis is much stiffer and they now have a rear independent suspension so I can see why it would feel better handling but faster??

Default my mk4 337 (no sunroof, man trans, manual seats, etc.) is 2887 and corrected hp is ~215 which

puts the power to weight at about 13.4 (as compaired to an mk5 at 16.5 and a stock S4 at 14.8)

You mean weight-to-power Which means the Mk5 should be slower.

Default How awesome would it be if VW got their heads out of their a$$es when they make the R36

And actually try and keep it in that same weight range with some different materials and weight saving techniques....THAT would be an awesome car...however very unlikely and I wouldn't be surprised if their next hot hatch hits 3600lbs....which would put it right around S4 territory....that is just f'n disgusting.

Default the only new car that has shocked me with *low* weight is the new Z06

Every other car seems to be a fat pig and just fluant all its horsepower. I hope the new M3, 911TT and GT-R impress me. Cause Audi sure didn't with the RS4.
