just for discussion, what other chemicals have people try to inject? pros and cons..
for example, water/metha injection lower AIT resulting in better timing but water/metha have lower energy density than gasoline.
how about hydrogen, ethanol, nitromethane, o2, nitrogen(not naawwz), butane, jet fuel. etc?
i know some might seem crazy but i think others might work real well. Hydrogen is the one that has my atention.

Liquid hydrogen would work real well - talk to NASA about that
but seriously - substituting other liquids with lower heat capacity (or specific heat) for water would not do much good. If you want a richer mixture add more fuel. The methanol is there just as an antifreeze.
