loaner car (how to get the dealer to give you one)
My car is going in for turbo replacement, which obviously takes a while, how do I get the dealer to give me a loaner car?

my dealer
my dealer (brookline) gives loaners as long as you bought the car there and schedule ahead of time. although the only thing i have had is a POS slushbox jetta. are they giving you warranty problems?

Say give me a loaner. That is Audi's policy, dont ask em, imply! Ask when someone is picking you up
to get your complimentary rental while your manufacturer defect is being fixed while you drive a lesser vehicle. You get a rental when you oil is being changed! If your rep gives you any crap about it...that means the owner of the dealer is being super cheap...and I would switch dealers...even if it meant driving further away.

I haven't taken it in yet, I'm calling them tomorrow (brookline)
well, even a POS jetta is better than nothing, the bike is fine, except when it rains like it did this weekend, hell I spun my rear wheel this morning in a turn when I went over a crosswalk white line

The normal policy is to give loaners to people who BOUGHT from that dealer
Dealers do not make much money on warranty claims...also...if they can't find anything wrong...can't duplicate...they don't get paid anything...even if they diagnosed for 4-5 hours. They are trying to change the policy in my locale...maybe this is a national thing...I dunno. I heard that they are considering giving you an Audi for a loaner car. Most Audi dealers already give A8/S8 owners...an A6 loaner. Hell, the President of my company got an A6 4.2 loaner when his TT was in for the wing retrofit on his car. I have been to my dealer tons of times...with my A4..my S4 sedan..and now my S4 Avant...most of the time I get a voucher for $29 at Enterprise rent-a-car...I never take the $29 car offered...I always pay to get a better class car...usually another $6/day.
It is true that you get better treatment at a dealer if you also BOUGHT at that dealer.

That actually isn't Audi's policy.
Its the policy of every other ****bucket car brand. Audis policy is to reimburse drivers up to $30 a day for a rental car for warranty work that takes longer than a day. Most dealers will loan you one of theirs but not all.
