Default Motor / Transmission Pull Update... (And One: "How the Hell Could This Have Happened?!?")

Well, with the help of my Dad, "KevinS4", and an old VW buddy of mine (all pictured) its out.

<img src="http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/b/n/bnl107/Engine%20Pull%2002.jpg" border="1">

Everything looks good. My OEM K03s actually like perfectly fine, but WTH, still glad I'm replacing them.

Here is the big suprise though:

<img src="http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/b/n/bnl107/Motor%20Mount.jpg" border="1">

Motor mounts are both completely shot! I know they go bad often, but I had absolutely NO idea mine were. No vibration or "thumping" sound I would expect from bad MMs... and, as you can see, they are 110% toasted. Of course, since I had no clue they were bad, they were the only part I didn't order beforehand. I have an aftermarket warranty that has been great at covering repairs, so I figured if they ever did give out, I'd just have the dealership replace them on their dime. Now, I don't know how I feel about trying to put the motor back in with them... even if it was just to drive it up the road to the dealership. The entire area which bolts down to secure the motor is gone!

So, what's the current status of the Stasis MM GB? :-)

Default Man!! Why did you pull the airconditioning system?

It just swings out of the way. You dont have to discharge it or recharge it when youre done with the install. Pulled my enging for a clutch and turbo change and found the motor mounts AND trans. mounts about in the same condition. Been doing some serious torqueing --have we?
