Default Don't replace - try using another battery in series and then charge

I've used one of those (cheap) portable starter kits which is bassically a smaller 12v battery with jumper cables.

These Audi batteries don't seem to recover after a total drain but STFA and you'll find that they have been successfully resurrected ;-)

Default If you get to the dealer, then the batter is not dead...

so they won't replace it. If you get there, it means the battery was dead, but the battery is still capable of holding a charge, and driving to the dealer may partially or totally recharge the battery. You are correct, you've done a little damage to the battery by discharging it...but unfortunately not enough to warrant replacement (again, IF you make it to the dealer).

If you don't make it to the dealer...you'll probably get a free battery, and tow.

Default Check and make sure there's water in it. Mine was bone dry.....

it was replaced by Audi but it was a struggle. Maintenance free doesn't totally mean "maintenance free". To Audi, just replace when the water runs out.

Default Yes!!! got the call, battery replaced...1 down, now time to tackle my diming display :-(

They ended up hooking the car up to monitor battery draw because the tech noticed that something was pulling more amps than normal??? well, they eventually determined that the battery was the culprite and replaced it. That's the second time the battery has been replaced in this car. Next time it happens, i'll be out of warranty and put in an optima.

Quick Reply: My battery is completely dead (my fault) what do i tell the service dept?
