After STFA'in, people say 00032 is "sport mode". Why does my tip change from 1-2 then?

Default Stock/Sport. Don't mees with it unless you're 100% sure what you're changing. If you have

a "registered" VAG through Ross-Tech, call them and they will tell you the code for it to be "sport". FYI: The difference isn't worth the 5 min' of your time.

FYI: 00032 is what they call "Sport".

Default You can't "hold" 1st unless you have the GIAC Tip-Chip. What you're talking about

only changes the so-called shift points. From my trials there is zero difference.

Default It will hold 1st until either you redline it or ease off the throttle

at which point it will shift into 2nd.

Why are there conflicting opinions about this. STFA'n does not help here.

Default The only way it will stay in first is, WOT to red-line. You can't hold it any other

way. Unless you have the Tip-Chip. I feel like I'm repeating myself

Default Because people are like.... You get it. I have tried it both ways. IT IS NOT

POSSIBLE TO HOLD FIRST W/ OUT THE TIP-CHIP.

Default You can hold first with a steady throttle input, so long as you don't redline it

But the moment you ease off the throttle, it will shift.

This is with a 2001.5 (thus DL version TCU), recoded to 00032, but without a tip chip.
