Default Mysterious Coolant Consumption- ->

Trying to get some ideas as to what we can check...I have been consuming coolant (not ingesting you wise ***) at a rapid pace. I was below the minimum mark on the expansion tank about a week and a half ago...topped it up and by last night the level was down again.

My Audi tech spent no less then an hour searching for a leak of any kind and we are all stumped.

- No visible leaks..no driveway stains and I park in the same spot all the time
- No odor of burning coolant
- The belly pan shows zero sign of leaking
- The oil is clean and at or just below level so it doesn't appear to be infiltrating the oil (I am going to do an oil analysis)
- Exhaust is clear...no unidentified smoke of any kind
- Expansion tank is not cracked
- No sign of coolant in the interior and the heat works fine, and has no odor
- Checked in, under and around the intake manifold for a leak from the secondary pump...nothing
- Pressure test at the coolant tank turned up nothing
- I did the after-run coolant sensor a few months ago and it is fine...no leaks there

The car runs absolutely perfect...no codes, no smoke, temp is dead on.

What did we miss?

Default I have a small leak on my passenger-side turbo that was causing similiar problems...

but the pink residue on the turbo line was pretty obvious. I'm getting ahead of myself though...

Started out noticing (and topping off) the coolant and keeping an eye on it. After a couple of weeks, the leak was apparently history. Taking off the belly pan and crawling underneath, I noticed a good amount of dried coolant coming from the passenger-side turbo line.

I chipped it away (stuff falls off like an egg out of a teflon pan) and guess what? The leak was back. So I left it alone, topped the coolant once more, and it has re-sealed itself.

So you're using dried G12 as a leak stopper? Genius!

What mileage are you at and have you done TB/WP? Could be failing WP causing leak and evaporation.
